Gonia is a group formed by musicians with diverse backgrounds in jazz and traditional Korean music, bringing together guitar, bass, janggu, and vocals to create a distinctive sound. Their music combines traditional rhythms and melodies with modern harmonies, rhythms, and improvisation, going beyond simple fusion to present bold new musical experiments that weave Korean sentiment into a global musical language. In addition to performing at concert halls and festivals throughout Korea, in 2025 they were invited to perform at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center in New York City, showcasing their uniquely Korean sound on an international stage and engaging with a global audience.
